Ron appeared miffed as well and set one of her files down, standing up as he did so. "Well, fine then. If you don't want to admit it to yourself that you're absolutely nutters, you do that. But you'll know. You'll know that you are." He glanced up towards the ceiling. "That kid can sleep through anything."

Hermione chuckled, shaking her head. "I know full well I'm nutters. You make it a point to remind me daily. But, you know you wouldn't ahve me any other way," she teased, poking his side. She brought her gaze up to the ceiling as well, nodding in agreement. "That he can, and for once I'm actually glad of it. Took at least an hour for him to finally fall asleep, if not longer. I'm hoping he stays asleep for awhile."

"That must be a record. A full hour? Usually takes him, what, ten minutes? Seconds? He must be ill." Ron made a funny face when she poked him. "Ah...you're right. I wouldn't. Did I mention your hair was particularly wild today?" He smirked and springed a curl of her hair before getting good, safe distance.

Hermione chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Yes, a full hour. I'm assuming having difficulty breathing probably played into it. Between his nose being stopped up and the coughing, it's a wonder he ahsn't thrown a fit from impatience yet." She chuckled again as he pulled a face, swatting at his hand when he messed with her hair. "Yet another comment that goes without saying. My hair has a mind of its own today; wouldn't let me do anything with it." She flicked a stray curl out of her face, sighing in annoyance. "Sometimes I have half a mind to cut it all off."

Ron took a long stride closer to her, taking some of her hair inbetween his fingers. "Don't you dare cut it all off. Don't do it. I, for one, have grown quite fond of this mess that you call hair. It's all springy." He boinged another one of her curls. "See? And it's, er...brown...and...oh, just don't cut it off."

Hermione smiled to herself as Ron played with her hair. "Oh, I have no intention of cuting it off. I'd miss it too much. It's just that sometimes I'd just as soon not have so much as I do. It can be bloody annyoing, you know." She laughed a bit more, combing her fingers through a section that wasn't being played with. "I woulnd't quite call it a mess, more of a mane. Big, tanlgy mane is what this is."

"Yes, but I like it." Ron ran his fingers through her hair and let his fingers play with the ends. "Maybe that's why you were in Gryffindor. You have this huge lion mane on you. It wouldn't be you without the...big hair."

A small shudder ran down her spine as Ron played with her hair. It was an odd habit she'd had since she was young. She got chills when people played with her hair. "Well, I'm glad you like it. I'm rather fond of it myself." She chuckled at his statement, shaking her head. "Oh yes, I'm sure that's it. And I suppose it would look quite different if I were to cut it off. Hence why I'm not keen on doing it."

Ron kissed her forehead quickly and glanced over at his sister. "Oi! Gin! What do you think Hermione would look like with short hair? Not good, right? She just told me that she's thought about hacking it!" He laughed. "Only kidding...sorta," he whispered in Hermione's direction.

Ginny, who had been watching the exchange between Hermione and Ron with a wide smile, thought a moment before answering. "Depends on how she gets it cut. It'd be odd, but it might grow on me if the person cutting it does a decent job," she replied with another smile.
"See? Wouldn't be that bad," Hermione retorted playfully. She rolled her eyes good-naturedly, shaking her head. "Sure, yo're kidding. That's what you want me to think," she teased, crossing her arms again.

Victoire raised an eyebrow. She couldn't imagine her Aunt Hermione with short hair. That was probably a sign that it shouldn't happen. No matter what those two did, they never failed to entertain. "I'm with Aunt Ginny, although I could never for the life of me picture you with short hair."

"So it's decided, you're keeping the hair. Good stuff, then." Ron pushed himself up onto the counter. His legs were so long that his feet nearly brushed the floor. "Have you all had lunch yet? Hermione? Gin? Victoire? I've recently discovered that Hermione can make something other than pasta. She baked a cake the other day, you know."

"Never said for sure I was whacking it," Hermione replied with a small smirk. "Merely suggested it. Besides, it's only on days when it won't cooperate with me when I want to get rid of it." She rolled her eyes good-naturedly at his comment. "You make it sound like such a shock. Mum did teach me how to cook. It's one of those things that a woman should know, am I right Gin?"
Ginny shook her head in response to her brother's question. "Nah, haven't eaten yet. Honestly haven't thought about it. Been running around like a mad woman all day." She chuckled at the beginning of yet another banter session between Ron and Hermione, shaking her head. "You two ar worse than Mum and Dad sometimes, you know that? Anyway, yes, cooking is one of those life lessons that should be learned."

Ron reddened slightly at being compared to his parents. Harry had indeed mentioned that once. "Right. And yes. I can cook better than she can, I'm sure of it. Course, I lived with Mum for years. And she wouldn't let me use magic. Manual cooking. Ugh."

Victoire chuckled at Ron's explanation on why he was a better cook than Hermione. "Yeah, I guess that would. I don't know how Muggles deal with it, honestly." She shook her head and then finally answered, "And no, I haven't eaten yet. Been a bit busy practicing for Quidditch next year."
