Victoire pursed her lips angrily as she wrote on the parchment. Honestly, it was a miracle she wasn't ripping the page with the way she pressed her quill onto it with the anger she felt. Now, if this had been the first time, she really, truly wouldn't have been so angry. But this had been a little over six years coming and she couldn't take this stigma that had been placed on her anymore.
As it was, she was livid. Ron (he didn't deserve the title of Uncle at the moment) was damn lucky that she was only one eighth Veela, otherwise there was a very good chance she'd be sprouting very angry beaks and feathers. Still, for the safety of all, it was a good thing she was only in the front lawn writing her letter to her Uncle Harry. If anyone would understand, she was sure it'd be him.

Hermione sighed heavily as she leaned on the kitchen counter, mug of tea in her hands to help calm her nerves. The entire of the Nest was in an uproar, having spent the majority of the day either condemning of supporting Victoire in her being a Slytherin. Hermione was on her niece's side, trying to talk some sense into her daughter and husband. So far, it was a fruitless effort. Both were far to stubborn to try and see reason.
Puching her hair out of her face, she noticed Victoire sitting in the front lawn, nearly destroying the parchment she was writing on. Frowning sympathetically, she fixed another cup of tea, heading outside and sitting down beside her. "Here, this will help a bit," she said gently, setting the cup down beside Victoire's outstretched legs. "I'm sorry about all of this. You know how your Uncle can be."

Finishing up her letter, Victoire scanned it quickly. She was quite proud of herself for not sounding too furious in the letter. The last thing she wanted was to scare her Uncle Harry off; he was the only one who'd get this and she loved him as much as any of her relatives...or at least as much as she did when they weren't insulting her. Swallowing as if to calm herself down, she heard her Aunt Hermione's voice. She smiled weakly, gladly taking the tea. She could definitely use that lovely soul drink, as she thought of it. "Thanks...and eh, it's not your fault. I'm just really irritated, is all." She glanced down, glaring down at the grass as if it was its fault.

Hermione smiled gently, taking a sip of her own tea before replying. "You're welcome. And I know it's not my fault but I'm still apologizing. It mght be awhile before I can at least convince Ron to be civil," she commented, rolling her eyes. "I can understand his distaste for most Slytherins, considering what we dealt with in school, but this is utterly ridiculous. He knows you better than to suggest you're anything like Draco!" She ranted a bit, more to herself than Victoire.

Victoire nodded, smiling weakly at her aunt. She was one of the few people who were on her side today, which was sad. She crossed her legs, letting out a sigh. At least she didn't look like she was trying to burn the grass with her mind anymore. "Eh, if you do, it'll be a miracle. Ron's damn stubborn..." She smiled apologetically. "Sorry, but I feel the need and besides, he doesn't deserve me calling him uncle at the present time."
Victoire frowned at Hermione's mini rant. She had heard lots of things about Slytherins in her life, but for some reason, that didn't effect her that much. She wasn't sure why. Maybe she thought they had just had a poor sampling. "Was Draco really that bad?" If not, maybe she was like him. Still, that was years ago. Sure, Victoire wasn't known to forgive anything very quickly, but really, it was almost two decades by now.
She sipped her tea, still have a frown on her face. Something else had just occured to him. "Hugo hasn't gotten into this, has he?" The last thing she wanted was for the little kid to be caught in the middle of this. Still, if he was, she secretly hoped he, at least, was on her side. But if Rose wasn't, she highly doubted it.

Hermione nodded in agreement, taking another drink. "That he is. I've known him since we were eleven, remember? That fact presents itself early on." She smiled slightly, nodding again. "I understand. Just try not to be mad at him for too long. He really does mean well by all this. None of the Slytherins we knew in school were exactly the nicest people, and he doesn't want you to turn out the same way."
Her eyes widened a bit at Victoire's question, unable to keep her own opinions out of her answer. "He was dreadful. Never had a decent thing to say about your Uncle Harry or Ron, not that it was really expected. He felt anyone who wasn't a Pureblood was a waste of air, and never had any qualms about making that opinion known. Not only that, he was a bloody coward. His only playing card was that Daddy was a high-ranking Ministry official. Once he got sent to Azkaban, Draco deflated a bit." She smirked at the memory. It was a fine day, although nowhere near as fine as the day she got to hit him.
Hermione shook her head quickly at the next question, setting her empty cup aside. "No, Hugo has no idea why we're all so upset. I'd like it to stay that way. I swear, if Ron drags him into this..." She trailed off, frowning angrily. She'd have more than a few things to say to her husband if he pulled Hugo into the argument. It wasn't necessary. "Well, we'll just say he'll be getting more acquainted with the living room furniture," she added with a smug smile.

Ron joined the pair outside, after having looked all over the house for Hermione. He wasn't entirely thrilled to see Victoire there, seeing as she was all full of her 'Slytherin pride' and he was about to wring her neck. "Ah," he said, joining into their conversation after listening long enough. "You're talking about Malfoy, the Amazing Bouncing Bastard." He snickered, recalling the ferret incident. That still made him laugh.
"And what about living room furniture?"

Victoire sighed. "Great, so it practically circulates in his blood by now. There's no cure for him being like that." She feigned a whimper before taking another sip. She fought back the urge to roll her eyes at her aunt explaining what her uncle's motives would be for this. "Well that's being presumptuous, don't you think? Oh wait, what am I saying?" she added, taking on a sarcastic tone. "Presumptuous is Ron's middle name." Or at least it should've been. It would have been much more fitting than Billius.
Victoire's expression became more and more ugly as Hermione went on to describing Malfoy. "What a bastard," was the only response she could come up with. One thing she never tolerated was people who were Pureblood thinking they were better than everyone. Hence why being alienated this way insulted her. She broke her back to defend Muggleborns and half bloods almost on a daily basis; Ron knew that! And this was the treatment she received in return.
Victoire sighed of relief. "Good, because Hugo's too young to need to know that his father is being so bloody closed minded." She smirked at Hermione's threat before hearing her uncle's voice from behind. This time she did roll her eyes when she thought, Oh wonderful! The ever loving Ronald Weasley! She turned around, glaring at her uncle. "Oh nothing. Just that if you bring Hugo into all of this, you're going to be sleeping on the couch. And if that happens, I'm going to laugh my bloody head off."
Usually calling anyone the Amazing Bouncing Bastard would have had Victoire laugh, but at the present time, genuine laughter was not on the agenda. Particularly if it was going to be caused by anything Ron said.

Hermione sighed, shaking her head. "Victoire, please. He does mean well, he really does. I know it doesn't seem like it, but you'll see in time." She frowned as her neice went on. Despite that sometimes, yes, Ron did wear on her nerves, she was also getting tired of listening to her husband get talked down about by the rest of their family. "I know you're upset, but I'd appreciate if you tried to calm down."
She nodded in agreement with Victoire, stretching her legs out in front of her. "He certainly was. There weren't many people who could stand him; only other Slytherins. And even then, I think they mostly acted out of fear." She smiled gently, opening her mouth to reply when she heard Ron come up behind them. CLosing her eyes and sighing, she rubbed her forehead gently. Please don't let this turn into a screaming match, she thought desperately.
Hermione couldn't help but laugh at Ron's description. "The very same," she confirmed. She opened her mouth to explain the furniture comment, but Victoire beat her to it. She closed her eyes again, wincing. Oh, this isn't going to be pretty, she thouhgt, wringing her hands nervously.
